I want to say Rest In Peace to my dear, dear chestnut appendix gelding horse, Romeo. He was a racehorse, fox hunter, and best friend. If I fell off, he would come make sure I was ok. He greeted me every morning with cheerful nickers. the whole neighborhood adored him, and brought him treats, which he received with many thanks. But he never got over his hatred of green apples, which he dropped on the ground and stepped on. I want to say thank you to all those chestnut horses out there, who made somebody laugh, cry, love, hate, and wish. And most of all the ones who who greeted you in the morning, wiping away your grudges of waking up early to feed him. And the way that he made you laugh by grabbing your straw hat and “laughing” at you. These kind of horses are the punctuation and capitalization of life. Thank you.
